I'm on a PC...
How do I expand and convert plug-ins? |
Read the Plug-in
Conversion Tutorial for detailed info. |
Why do I'm experiencing
a mass of bugs and problems by using the PlugPack? |
The PlugPack
is a well tested plug-in package so you should not experiencing a mass of bugs or
problems. The most common reason for bugs and problems is the usage of other plug-ins while using the PlugPack. As mentioned in
this documentation the PlugPack is not compatible to any other plug-in. |
What can I do if I'm still having problems even if there are no other plug-ins in use? |
If you are still having problems
just send an email with included description of your problem and a pilot
log as well as a debug log to the email address mentioned in this documentation. |
Why I'm getting problems with the PlugPack after updating EV Nova? |
Because of
new game versions the PlugPack needs to get updates too. So old versions of the PlugPack may not be compatible to a specific version
of Nova. Just check the add-ons page for a newer version of the PlugPack
in such a case. |
Why do I get problems by using use my old pilot after an update of the PlugPack? |
Even if this is not a total
conversion, it uses up a lot resources which have dramatically changed during the
process of updating. It's recommended that you start a new pilot in this case. Because
of the huge ammount of changed data it would be far too complicated to write
an 'update plug-in' to update all the resources of a pilot file from a specfic version to another. |
Why do I have trouble starting
the game after removing plug-ins of the PlugPack? |
Before removing plug-ins you
need to get rid of all data of the used plug-ins within the game (i. e. outfits,
ships, etc.). Afterwards remove the 'Last Pilot' file in your pilots
folder. Than restart the game and open your pilot via the 'Open Pilot'
button. Nova will warn you that your pilot still may have active events
etc. of a removed plug-in. Just press 'Ok' and enter the game. Maybe you
will have problems if you use other plug-ins with this pilot because of
set mission bits etc. It's recommended that you always make a backup of
your pilot file so you can revert to the original pilot anytime. |
May I send you my ideas for further releases of the PlugPack? |
You're welcome
to send your ideas to the email address mentioned in this documentation.
But keep in mind that there is no guarantee that these ideas will find
their way into the PlugPack. Since the PlugPack uses a lot of the remaining resources
even a good idea could be denied because it just can't be implemented anymore. |
How can I
use the characters of the NewCharacters plug-in? |
Just start
a new pilot and you will see a new dropdown menu within the pilot creation window. This menu is named 'background' and here you
can choose your starting options. |
How can I fly the
racing missions of the NewMissions plug-in? |
To
get access to the racing missions you need to fly to Las Vegas in the Vega system
and be the owner of a non-freighter-type ship. |
Where can
I find the Paint Station? |
The Paint
Station can be found in the Zel system. |
Where can
I find a specific outfit? |
Just check
the ExtraOutfits listing in this documentation. |
Where can I find Tektaara Station? |
Tektaara Station is in the Obatta
system. After jumping in make a full stop. Press 'land' and than 'auto-pilot'
until your ship stops rotating. Now just fly in that direction. You will
fly a long way until you will be able to see the station. Because of the
murkiness level of the system you should always check your radar or you
could miss it. |
How do I use the Bremesol Factory? |
First you need to get a Bremesol
Factory and a Bremesol Storage. The factory will produce 5 units of Pure
Bremesol every day. Since the goal is to get Refined Bremesol you need to refine your Pure Bremesol by 'buying'
the 'Refine' order. Than just load it onto your ship using the 'Load' order.
Now you can use the refined Bremesol for special technologies onboard your ship or sell it to other outfitters around the galaxy. |
Why are my PD weapons not working properly? |
If you get
different PD weapons (i.e. a PD Laser and a PD Rocket Launcher) the different
systems will interfere with each other and stop working. It's unknown if
this is a bug in the Nova engine or intended. |
Why does the Multi
Beam doesn't shot at different targets as mentioned in
its description? |
You have to
toggle fast between different targets and press and hold the 'secondary
fire' key if the weapon is selected. |
Why do I don't get a discount on outfits after buying the Gli-tech Membership
Card? |
This feature is broken and will
eventually be fixed by Ambrosia. Until then the discount will only be granted
on ships. |
Where can I find the Spica Shipyard? |
The Spica Shipyard can be found
in the Spica system. |
Where can I find the SSC Corvette? |
The SSC Corvette can be found
on the Spica Shipyard. In order to have access to this ship you need to
build it first using the shipyards outfitter. |
How do I build
ships in the Spica Shipyard? |
You need to
buy the shipyard, the buidling crew and building materials in order to
build a ship. The important part is that because of engine limitations
you will have to get the exact mass of building materials that is mentioned
in the description of the building orders. A 10 ton ship can't be built
out of a 10000 ton block of building materials. |
